Update 0.9
Heyo Everyone!
Looks like I've been sticking to the Bi-monthly update.
Yet again another big update, there's a lot of good news but there is also some bad news.
The good news is: lots and lots of asset changes, new mechanics and minor reworks.
Bad news: All old saves are no longer compatible
This Update, as mentioned in 0.8 patch notes, focuses on polishing up ACT 1 before moving on to ACT 2. So there was alot of story editing and not to mention a lot of new visual assets. And with the new mechanics and rework, it butchered old save files :(
Let's not waste anymore time! There's a lot to cover so here's what's new!

System Settings
Title Screen:
More Options!
- Developer Note: The old options menu was pretty lacking, almost everything about it was pretty weak in customization for a curated individual experience.
- New: Dash Toggle!- You can now toggle running at all times. (or not!)
- New: Command Remember- The can now toggle whether you want the system to remember your last used command. If you have a go to command!
- New: Volume Control- You now have the ability to set the individual volume level of all sounds of the game by intervals of 10% (Ex: Master volume, background music, sound effects, etc.)
- New: Window Tone- If for some reason the default window colors don’t function well with you, you can now customize it as you please!
- New: Animated Tiles- Sometimes animated objects on the map can lag certain pcs. You now have the ability to turn them off!
- New: Battle Animation Speed- For those trying to fasten the speed of battle, you can speed up the animations to cut down on time spent in battle!
- New: Synch FPS- By default, the engine can limit FPS. Now you have the ability to unlimit the FPS.
- New: Keyboard Config- For those who want to set their own controls, now you can!

- New: Row Formation- New Menu to change the row formation of your party
- New: Save- You can now save whenever, wherever.

Spare
- Bug Fix: Rowena’s Spare - Fixed a bug where Rowena would be unable to spare after learning it.
Rows
- New: Row Formation- There are now 3 different rows in which you can place each character individually . The key is to place them strategically.
- Front Row - Characters here will have tank physical attacks and skills. They also gain a Strong TP and Speed boost
- Middle Row - Characters here will not be targeted by physical attack or skills as long as there is an alive ally in the front row. Allies in this row gain an Attack, TP and speed boost.
- Back Row - Characters here also won’t be targeted by physical skills or attacks. Allies in this row get a Magic Attack and weak Def boost. However they attack slower. Allies here can also not use the basic attack command.
Items
Armors
- New: Dex Sword- During the Tutorial, Dex will now lend you his sword.
- Removed: Father’s Sword - This sword was probably the first ever sprite I made back in 2016! It’s no longer up to date.
- New: Broken Materia- Materia is your father’s legendary sword, however it seems to have been broken…
- New: Wooshie Cape- A light and flowy cape that flows in the wind easily. Increases Evasion & Agility while lowering Mhp by 10%
- New: Sweetest Lollipop- The sweetest lollipop ever! Allows the wearer to revive an ally once per battle. Regenerates 1% of the wearers TP, HP, and MP each round.
- New: Celestial Brooch- A unique brooch woven with unknown silk. Increases Max Mana by 15% and starts battle with Star Dust
- New: Luna's Lament- Beautiful earings that seem to cry endlessly. Attacks apply anti healing by 10(+10% of M.atk) Hp.
- New: Flair Emblem- The emblem of the famous heros that saved the world. Regenerates 1% TP each round

- New: Bearby: Little White Lie- You don't have the will to break it to her, The truth can be too hard to handle. What's a little white lie?
- New: Florrent: A True Friend- Isolation was hard but he'll cherish the time spent with you forever. Dex found a true friend in you.
- New: Florrent: Day Of Remembrance- A day to remember the heroes who sacrificed for a brighter future. A day of Remembrance.
Story
Paths Diverge
- Error Fix: Gentle Route- Fixed an error in code in the updated tutorial that would lock the player into a neutral route. Making the Gentle route inaccessible.
Revision
- Adjusted: Intro- A new scene was added into the intro.
- Adjusted: Whole Story- The whole story has been revised and edited to fit better narratively.
- New: - Clairsentient: Florrent possesses the ability to hear the past. But will he learn to control it?
Monsters
Netherground Tall Grass Maze
- New: - Trumis: Floating silently through the tall grass, Trumis enjoy peeking their antenna slightly above the tall grass to photosynthesize.
- New: - Marioro: blending into its environment is easy for Marioro. Being the same color as the yellow tall grass allows it to avoid incoming predators…that is until they step on them.
Mercenaries Path (South exit of Wooldale)
- New: - Aldon: It’s weightless cotton body allows it to float with ease. Armed with a trusty stick, Aldon will smack all it deems unworthy to pick its body.
- New: - Ohha: Is that a leaf? Nope it’s an Ohha, it’s uncanny resemblance will make ill experienced travelers regret ever picking it up.
Skills/Spells
Florrent
- Reworked: Soft Heart- disperses 15%(per ally) of damage taken to their allies.
Bearby
- New: Transtemporal Dilation: - Turn back the clock of time for all the sweets you've used. Refreshing their skill usage to full.
- Adjusted: All sweets related spells- Now have a limited skill usage that needs to be refreshed.
Rowena
- New: Waltz: - each instance of attack or skills used by Rowena grant waltz stacks.
- Adjusted: Non-combo skills- Now require a specific amount of waltz stacks. No longer costs TP.
Art
System Changes
- Updated: Text Window: - The text window now has special background art!
Title Screen
- New: Progressive Title Screen Art - If you’re playing for the first time you’ll be welcomed by an empty title screen, however as you progress through the story the title screen will update. (in the case that your screen does not update automatically, use the save scrolls to manually update it.)
Menu
- New: Row Formation- Row formation has its own little Icon
- New: Save- The Save option has its own icon!
- Updated: All Columns (excluding Beau’s):- All columns have been updated with the new face art!
Characters
- Updated: Florrent: Battle Sprite: - Upon receiving a sword, Florrent will now have a new battle sprite!
- Updated: All of Team Pluhnoah’s Face set:- All members of Team Pluhnoah now have special art for their faces used during text.
